Look at my blog on Kindle Fire. Not bad. |
What I am reading. |
"What's up?" I said.
"Have you gotten you Kindle Fire?"
"Yeah, am playing with it"
"It's clunky." YC complained.
"Really? Oh, you have an iPad. Don't compare it to iPad. Or you will be disappointed. I have an android phone and it's very similar to it."
"I don't like it", YC reiterated.
"Sorry. It works fine for me." Somehow I felt lucky that I was not spoiled by iPad.
"And you can only buy music and books from Amazon?"
"Probably, but I always buy books and music from Amazon so it's not a problem for me"
"Sigh, let me give it a try" YC was lamenting.
"OK", I was picturing YC returning it. Poor YC.
After hanging up with YC, I started exploring. Since all my books, music, and a few videos were on my Amazon cloud, I tried them one by one. Music sounds great on my Fire (better than on my Mac Book Pro). Video looks much better than on my laptop. With music playing, I started browsing magazine section. I found my favorite magazine "New York Review of Books" now available on Kindle and immediately subscribed to it. It looked great on Fire. With books, music, video, and magazine ready, I am satisfied. It does what I want it to do. The rest is bonus.
P.S. I also ordered a Kindle Touch 3G. For serious reading, eInk is still the best choice.
