Book Stroll

This book reminds me the cat Chinchih spotted in Nice (see below).

A perfect book cover for the title. Is the painting by Goya?

One of the most high profiled physicists, will Ms. Randall win the Nobel Prize like her father?

Mr. Ha Jin takes on the Rape of Nanjing, a really difficult topic. Seeing this book also reminds me our local hero Iris Chang, whose life was way too short.

The vibrant magazine section. Hard to believe Gloria Steinem used to be so young.
The books I bought today. Farewell, Mr. Updike.
I recovered enough for my book stroll and it really lightened up my mood. On my way back, I listened to my new Schubert CD (Paul Lewis playing D946) and even sang with it.

*I still don't understand the Paul Lewis phenomenon. To me, he's no comparison to his teacher, Alfred Brandel. He has a strong and powerful touch (reminds me Richter), but his interpretation lacks the poetic thoughtfulness of his teacher, nor the freshness of Richter.
