What is this scary looking figure? No, it's not from a sci-fi (or horror) movie. It's actually an old diving equipment used by people to collect abalone, displayed in the Whalers Cabin at Point Lobos. It does look quite creepy, doesn't it. I can certainly use it as a Halloween costume.Just to convince you it's really used in abalone collecting, below is a model also displayed in the cabin to show you how they did it in the old days. (Frankly speaking, I still think it's from the set of "I know what you did last summer", but I probably watch too many horror movies...)
