Whaler's Cove, Point Lobos

This beautiful cove was named "Whaler's Cove" because in the whale hunting days this place was used to process the whale bodies. Thankfully, those days are long gone! (You can still see the history on display in the nearby Whaler's Cabin.) Nowadays this is a diving hot spot, entrance to the underwater Point Lobos Marine Reserve.

Granite Point, Point Lobos

In terms of photo, this one is not very exciting, but I like how the cloudy day brings out the colors and details of the plants in Point Lobos' rich ecosystem. I had to be extra careful where I stood when taking this photo, because the trail was full of poison oaks.
