Mission Carmel
Carmel Mission. The dynamic range of D800E always amazes me. |
The Virgin and Child. This photo reminds me many religious paintings I had seen in the National Gallery, London. |
I thought the auto exposure under exposed the photo, but when I looked at it on computer screen, it was spotted on. |
A super friendly cat. After playing with me for a while, he lead me to the Mission. |
The chapel where the late Pope John Paul II had prayed. |
I hand held my camera at ISO 1600. The result is not bad. |

Sleepless Night
Night scenes are so interesting because scenes looked very mundane in the day time can take on a totally different personality at night. Shooting night scenes is like entering a world inverted (Bishop's poem "Insomnia" immediately comes to mind). It really shows you not to take the things you see for granted.
