Pinnacle of Point Lobos

Mission Carmel

Carmel Mission. The dynamic range of D800E always amazes me.
The Virgin and Child. This photo reminds me many religious paintings I had seen in the National Gallery, London.

I thought the auto exposure under exposed the photo, but when I looked at it on computer screen, it was spotted on.

A super friendly cat. After playing with me for a while, he lead me to the Mission.
The chapel where the late Pope John Paul II had prayed.
I hand held my camera at ISO 1600. The result is not bad.

Sleepless Night

Night scenes are so interesting because scenes looked very mundane in the day time can take on a totally different personality at night. Shooting night scenes is like entering a world inverted (Bishop's poem "Insomnia" immediately comes to mind). It really shows you not to take the things you see for granted.

My Favorite Place on Earth

30 minutes after sunset.
Three hours before the above photo.
